Nothing was really wrong with Vista but this is just a habbit I have. Everytime I've had an OS over 6 months, I usually do a clean install. Makes it feel fresh and organized again. Well, everything went well and smoothly but all of a sudden when I downloaded the Zune software and attached my Zune player, Vista was not able to install the Zune drivers.
This is the message I get. At first I thought this was because I installed a bunch of stuff before I had fully updated my Vista. So I did a new clean install, formatted the damn thing. Made sure Vista was fully updated before doing anything else. After that I installed the Zune stuff and tried again. Gradually I started downloading all patches, drivers and programs that a normal clean windows install would have and after every install I tried re- installing Zune but the same error happens. The Zune software itself installs perfectly, it detects my music, builds the library and plays without a problem.
